roma in black and white with a 35 mm camera. learnt the hard way how I “should” have had my b&w film roll developed as I ended up spending more than anyone should for shotty prints. I almost want to take on a studio course this year to be able to develop my own!
Pretty Fabrics
Ever since the instructor of the very fist book making workshop I attended told me it is too long of a process to create a fabric cover for a book as it involves putting a paper backing on the fabric, I have been all about fabric covered handbound books.
I found the best way to do this, but maybe I shouldn’t say best, I learn with each book I make.
Because of this infatuation, I am always on the look-out of possible book cover fabrics and with such amazing fabrics out there, it’s often very difficult to choose. Especially when I go to Effiloché which is a knitting/sewing craft shop/studio about 45 minutes away from where I live, it has some amazing products and I’ve even seen a whole selection of Amy Butler fabrics as well as some of her patterns.
two out of three of these came from Effiloché, the one with the cute little dear however I bought at a market in Acquapendente, Italy while I was there this summer, couldn’t resist!
As I couldn’t this baby while I was at the local Wawel Bakery, the colors were enough to get me drooling but the taste was what sealed the deal. mango and wildberries cream shortcake, so delicious.
Betsey Day
Today was a cute day including a purchasing of cute socks from the betsey johnson store downtown. A friend and I wandered a bit and eventually settled at a coffee shop to reminisce of our time in Italy and I indulged in just about the best cheesecake on this planet.
I’m quite lucky to be able to do this but I also feel as though I’ve earned it.
